The California Highway starts from north to south in San Francisco, passes through Los Angeles, and ends in San Diego at the southern end, where it continues to wind along the west coast of the United States, ending in Leggett. The 1,000 kilometres of Highway 1 are filled with breathtaking scenery, including endless seas on one side and the chance to see whales leaping out of the ocean on the other. On the other side, there are mountains and vast green plains with herds of cattle and horses. This road is known as the most beautiful road in the world and was also named by National Geographic as one of the top 50 places you must visit in your life.
Half Moon Bay
Half Moon Bay is one of the most popular surf towns on the California coast, known for its prime location near San Francisco and its peaceful, laid-back atmosphere. Here, you can surf at the famous Mavericks. The large, wide grassy area is a natural golf course where many visitors experience golfing on the cliffside. The town also has a local brewery that is worth a visit to sample the unique flavour of the local beer.
Pigeon Point
This town is located near the beginning of Highway 1. When you see an old lighthouse in the distance, you'll know you're nearing the town. This lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse on the Pacific coastline of the United States and is still in use and free to visit. The white lighthouse, blue ocean, and brown reefs make every part of the landscape picturesque.
Monterey
The town of Monterey has a well-established arts community, with local and internationally renowned art museums and entertainment venues abounding, as well as the famous Cannery Row in honour of author John Steinbeck; it also has a rich and diverse marine life, and the Monterey Aquarium is one of the largest aquariums in North America. This is a very typical California town, with a strong blend of California Spanish and Mexican culture making this small town more unique and becoming a more typical California town. The whole town is very simple, not even more than four-story houses, rows of houses with their characteristics, built by the mountains and the sea. Some of the houses even have the year of construction written on them to show off their weight, and regardless of the length of time, the front doors are laden with flowers of the right shade. Life in the town is both peaceful and modern.
Carmel-by-the-Sea
Unlike the previous towns, Carmel-by-the-Sea is a bohemian town with a history of fewer than 100 years, but it is known for its elegant artistic atmosphere and its natural beauty, which has been favoured by the literati and artists for more than 100 years. Since the day the town was founded, it has been built and cared for by its residents. With only 4,000 inhabitants, Carmel is still in great shape thanks to the care and maintenance of the town's inhabitants. Interestingly, the residents of the town resist modernization and refuse any advertising, and the installation of neon lights is forbidden in the town, even the American favourite fast food restaurants are also forbidden here.
